Jon Bon Jovi is making headlines not for his band’s music nor for the recent issues with now ex-lead guitarist Richie Sambora. Instead, it was an incredible act of kindness on the 51-year-old Jersey native’s part that put him back in the news.
This past Saturday, Oct. 12, Bon Jovi took a trip out to Las Vegas to deliver a well-intentioned shot to the heart of super-fan Branka Delic, a 34-year-old Australian woman who was in Sin City to wed fiancé Gonzalo Cladera. If you’re wondering how and why he ended up at her wedding, it turns out that she caught Bon Jovi’s attention through the use of social media and a website created solely for this purpose.
“She might not be marrying Bon Jovi, but the next best option is for her to walk down the same aisle he did 20 good strong years ago so the stage has been set… The Graceland Chapel, Las Vegas Nevada.”
“In Branka’s mind, the wedding gods have come together because JBJ is performing at MGM Grand that same night. The only problem is there’s a real chance Branka will skip out on the wedding and go to the concert instead.”
She also referred to the fact that she and her beau have stayed together “through the good times and bad—just like Tommy and Gina.” For those unaware, Tommy and Gina are the fictional couple from one of Bon Jovi‘s biggest hits, “Livin’ On a Prayer,” from 1986′s Slippery When Wet.
Beyond performing, Bon Jovi‘s presence in Vegas and other casino-rich cities is well known given his his background with gambling. He’s accustomed to enjoying table and machine games and even has a slot machine modeled after him in Japan
It wouldn’t surprise us if he frequented the Betfair Casino, where he could hone his poker and blackjack chops when he’s on the road. Chances are he did just that before hitting Vegas for his super-fan’s wedding — and hopefully he was able to get some actual games in during his trip, too.
And to further show love to his fan, Bon Jovi sent out the following tweet to make sure the rest of the world could congratulate the couple on their wedding:
Delic, of course, responded with a tweet of her own to express her gratitude to her favorite artist in the entire world:
What do you think of this news? Also, do you think he should let Sambora back in the band? Let us know in the comments.
