A Visit To Def Leppard’s Sparkle Lounge
Def Leppard Ringtones Def Leppard Posters
An obvious question that comes to mind with regard to Def Leppard’s new album is, what is a Sparkle Lounge? The group’s frontman, Joe Elliott describes it as "a special room with recording equipment set up
backstage at each of the group’s 2007 shows."
He goes on to say that, "the crew started having a bit of fun with it, putting in sparkly lights, candles, incense — you name it. It turned into this very atmospheric little work space."
That little room, The Sparkle Lounge, was the birthplace for the material that makes up the album that honors that special place with the name: Tales From The Sparkle Lounge.
In a recent interview, Elliot takes some time to talk about the new album and answers some questions about how the band managed to write an album while on the road. He is also asked about the involvement of country singer Tim McGraw and the rumors that suggest Def Leppard is going country.
For the entire interview, see the Reuters website.

Def Leppard Sidelined While Singer Recovers

Veteran British rockers Def Leppard were forced to put their tour on hold recently and had to postpone shows in Canada as well as shows in Michigan that the band had hoped to perform.
Lead singer Joe Elliott is said to be suffering from an upper respiratory
tract infection, which certainly sounds like the kind of affliction that would keep a singer off the stage for a time.
There was some indication that Elliott was having some minor health problems during the show in Providence, Rhode Island, where it was reported that he was obviously not at the top of his game and was having some difficulty singing high notes.
So far there does not appear to be any official word on when the group plans to resume their tour.

Def Leppard Hoping To Find The Right Mix For Tour Set List
When it comes to selecting songs to play on their tour which begins this week, British rockers Def Leppard know that fans what to hear the oldies and may not appreciate hearing too much material of their forthcoming new album, Songs From The Sparkle Lounge.
Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen is quoted in Rolling Stone recently, saying that he would expect the audience to walk out if the group added too much new material to their set list. "You’d really like to go out there and play all your new shit off the new record, but you can’t do that, because they’d walk out," Collen says.
There are plans to add a few of the new songs to the set list for the tour, but it is obvious that they are being careful to avoid putting too much emphasis on the new stuff when compared to their bread and butter tracks from years gone by that the fans expect to hear.
Sounding a bit bored with the same old songs, Collen talks about how the band would sit on the couch watching TV while they played their instruments through tiny amplifiers. "It’s a real drag rehearsing these songs we’ve done a million times, and there’s no audience there, so it’s a bit like pulling teeth," he says.
In other Def Leppard news, there are rumors saying that the popular video game "Guitar Hero" will feature some Def Leppard music. "Guitar Hero 4" will reportedly feature at least three well-known Def Leppard tracks: Photograph, Animal and Rock of Ages.
