Forthcoming Book Creating Rift Between Rolling Stones Legends
They are often billed as “tell-all” works – a provocative description for sure, and one that probably doesn’t hurt sales much either. Whether or not the row now brewing between guitarist Keith Richards and frontman Mick Jagger is the real deal or a story that may be amped up a bit for publicity’s sake is something that fans will probably debate.
According to the Daily Mail, Jagger is furious with Richards’ alleged plans to dish dirt on the flamboyant frontman in his autobiography that’s set for release in October.
Although there have been questions about the reliability of Keith Richards’ memory, due largely to his own admission that he was having some difficulty recalling events when he began working on the book, people close to Richards report that his memory seems quite intact.
Jagger may not be on board with that conclusion, for obvious reasons. “It will be interesting. I would have thought that you’d actually have to be able to remember your life in order to write about it,” he reportedly said.
Some revelations Richards is including in the book are said to be astonishingly honest, and detail Jagger’s affairs and days of abusing drugs. Some are concerned about the future of the group in light of how upset Jagger is said to be over the new book, which bears the title Life.
Jagger and Richards have known each other since their schoolboy days but have reportedly been drifting apart in recent years after disagreements about issues such as the promotion of their film Stones In Exile.
History proves that this is not the first time the two have had a falling out, but after such a long, wildly-successful and profitable career, some are concerned that a group comprised of guys in their late sixties might call it quits for good.
Richards signed a multi-million dollar deal for the book during 2007 and is apparently quite close to wrapping it up. Jagger considered penning how own autobiography a few years ago but decided against it. Perhaps the content of Richards’ book will inspire him to reconsider that decision and share his version of the story with the world.

Mick Jagger Sought By Johnny Depp For New ‘Pirates’ Movie
It seems as if having one Rolling Stone in the movies with him is not quite enough for actor Johnny Depp. The Pirates of The Caribbean star now wants to recruit Stones frontman Mick Jagger for the next sequel which already features Stones band made Keith Richards as the father of Depp’s character, Captain Jack Sparrow.
I think we’ve all seen big movies that have ultimately diminished themselves with sequels that never measured up to the original, but Depp does not seem to be worried about that at all. As reported by the Express, Depp is quite anxious to get back into character for another swashbuckling adventure on the high seas.
“I can’t wait to get back in costume. Some people will say, ‘Aha Depp sold out by doing the sequels’. But it was never an issue for me. I love Captain Jack so much I’d do Pirates 7 if asked,” Depp said.
Whether or not Jagger would make a good pirate may be debatable, but there’s little doubt that he’s got enough personality and natural showmanship to have a good shot at giving Depp what he’s looking for.
No word on whether Jagger has been officially asked to join the cast, but Disney is reportedly beginning to work out the details of the next sequel, and the Richards-Jagger combination is definitely something Depp would like to see, going as far as saying that he thinks they would be “perfect,” according to an insider.
Whether or not a fourth movie will dampen the enthusiasm of movie fans will eventually be revealed, but having two Rolling Stones as part of the cast may bring in fans who might not otherwise spend their money on a Disney movie about pirates.

Ron Wood In Hot Water With New Girlfriend
No sooner did we hear that Rolling Stones guitarist Ron Wood seemed to be on the right track, it now appears that Wood may have a ways to go before he is able to win his battle with the bottle.
A recent report alleges that Wood took a shot or two to the head courtesy of his new girlfriend, Brazilian beauty Ana Araujo. Araujo reportedly caught Wood tipping the bottle and flew off the handle, leaving Wood nursing a black eye and other assorted facial bruises.
In addition to the physical pummeling, Wood saw two of his prized paintings destroyed by the enraged Araujo. Wood had hoped to sell the paintings. Not that the guy needs the money, but it probably is personally satisfying to an artist to know that there are people who are willing to pay to own their creations.
Wood’s new girlfriend had been helping him stay sober, and she was obviously quite distraught when she caught him drinking. There was no word of any attempt on Wood’s part to defend himself from the assault. Araujo appears to be a fairly petite young lady, but perhaps Wood simply felt that he deserved what he had coming to him.
It’s also possible that he may have been too inebriated to put up an effective defense against the enraged 30-year-old.
The physical altercation was said to have taken place after Wood directed a flow of nasty comments and name-calling at Araujo when she confronted him about this latest fall from the wagon.
Wood was said to have called ex-wife Jo later that same day, but did not receive the sympathy that he may had been hoping for, essentially telling him that she was tired of his nonsense, and that he had become “a sad old man.”
As reported earlier, Wood was ecstatic about his new relationship with Araujo and was even said to be considering marriage. It seems fairly certain, however, that he’s unlikely to be tying the knot unless he can finally win his long-time battle with alcohol abuse.

Ron Wood Works Towards Sobriety – Considers Marriage
The drama that was Ron Wood’s life seems to have subsided. The Rolling Stones guitarist is said to be working hard to stay sober, and is “desperate to give up for good.” There’s some high-powered support for Wood, which is being credited as a great help to him.
Including on Wood’s support team are fellow Rolling Stone Mick Jagger, long-time friend and former Faces band mate Rod Stewart, as well as pop star Elton Jon. Jagger reportedly calls Wood regularly to check up on him, and offer encouragement.
Perhaps even more encouragement and support comes by way of Wood’s new girlfriend. Wood has been seeing 30-year-old Ana Arujo since around the beginning of the year, and it is said that the Brazilian beauty has had a very positive influence on his life. So positive in fact, that is is being reported by the Daily Express that Wood is considering marrying her.
Wood split not long ago from Ekaterina Ivanova, ending a tumultuous affair that certainly kept the two in the spotlight, and did not seem to do much good for Wood’s struggles with addiction. The affair ended after a particularly nasty fight between the two that resulted in the police being called to the scene.
In other Rolling Stones news, a recent story in Rolling Stone magazine quotes guitarist Keith Richards regarding the possibility of a new Stones album in the not-too-distant future.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if we did some recording later this year,” Richards said. “I don’t know how the rest of them feel about roadwork at the moment. Maybe we’ll search for a different way for the Stones to go back on the road.”
In contrast to Ron Wood, Richards seems to have no problems with the relationship he has with alcohol. After rumors that he had given up drinking, Richards had this to say: “Listen, the rumors of my sobriety are greatly exaggerated. And we’ll leave it at that.”
Leaves little doubt why actor Johnny Depp chose Richards to model certain characteristics of his Pirates of The Caribbean character, “Captain Jack Sparrow” after Richards.
