"Foghat" is the name of a British rock band whose peak of success in the 1970's and became well-known in the U.S. market. Some have described their musical style as "blues-rock," with prominent use of electric guitar and electric slide guitar.
"Foghat" has five gold records to their credit and the he group manages to remain popular during the disco era. The early years if the 1980's saw the group's popularity decline. Despite the departure of guitarist and vocalist Dave Peverett in 1984, which essentially disbanded the group, remaining members drafted new personnel and continued to tour as "Foghat" into the early years of the 1990's.
The original members reunited in 1993 after being convinced to do so by producer Rick Ruben, who wound up being unable to follow through with the project. the group decided to forge ahead on their own and released a studio album called Return of the Boogie Men in 1994 and a live album entitled Road Cases during 1998. The group's final album of the decade, King Biscuit Flower Hour names for the syndicated radio show, came out in May 1999, and was made up of live recordings from the years 1974 and 1976.
