"Led Zeppelin" was an British rock band put together in 1968 by Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and John Bonham. The group is considered one of the first heavy metal bands.

Their material often incorporated elements of blues and folk genres, and even incorporated rockabilly, reggae, soul, funk, classical, Celtic, Indian, Arabic, pop, Latin and country music.

Nearly 30 years after break up of the group following the untimely death of drummer John Bonham in 1980, the band continues to be admired for their artistic achievements, commercial success and widespread influence. "Led Zeppelin" has sold more than 300 million albums worldwide, including 111 million sales in the United States. All of the group's original studio albums reached the U.S. Billboard Top 10, with 6 reaching the coveted number one spot.

"Led Zeppelin" are ranked number 1 on VH1's 100 "Greatest Artists of Hard Rock" and Rolling Stone magazine has described "Led Zeppelin" as "the heaviest band of all time" and "the biggest band of the '70s". During December of 2007 the surviving members of "Led Zeppelin" reunited -- with late drummer John Bonham's son, Jason filling in for his father -- for the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert at The O2 Arena in London, England.
