2013 Report

The first annual 80’s in the Park Festival was a tremendous success! In my opinion this was the best concert to ever occur in Brevard County, Florida. 80’s music fans came from near and far and were not disappointed by the performances of the fabulous bands. Hats off to the Richard and Kyle, the promoters that put this awesome lineup together! Every band (including the cover bands) were outstanding, and the headliners packed the venue for the evening shows.

The promoters also arranged affordable hotel rates at the local Hilton, shuttle service from the hotel to the concerts and back, airport shuttles, and great food vendors.

As the official photographers for the event we captured thousands of great concert photos, meet and greets, and crowd shots. The bands were all very friendly, the staff was excellent. And for a first time out, I would say that this festival exceeded my expectations.

As Far as the performances were concerned, every band sounded as good or better than they did back in the 80’s. I hadn’t shot a “hair” band in a long time and I had forgotten how much energy they put into their performances. These bands were all over the stage, much to the delight of the fans, and the music sounded spectacular (kudos to the sound guys).

Some of the band members were people that I knew back in the 80’s when I lived in Hollywood, California. Seeing them again was such a blast from the past. Most of the bands allowed me to come up on stage to shoot while they were playing and Mark Slaughter actually invited me to come out onto the stage and get right in their faces for some very exclusive shots.
