The Eagles are set to release a brand-new studio album in the near future. It will be the first new full-length studio album the group has released since 1979. Talk about a long run!

Joe Walsh spoke with Billboard.com about the new album and says that the new album is just about finished with some vocal work and final mixing to be completed.

Walsh also reveals that some of the new material goes in some “really, really new, different directions” with Walsh making sure there was some rock in the mix to make sure the material wasn’t too tame.

He also reports that there are plans afoot that call for the band to tour “extensively” next year. No word on dates or locations on that yet.

According to Joe Walsh the Eagles are “not done yet” and despite his other activities of late, he has no plans to retire from Eagles in favor of a solo career.
