Speculation Swirls Around Status of Van Halen Tour

With a cancer scare and stint in rehab in Eddie Van Halen’s not-too-distant past, there’s sufficient ammunition to fuel the various rumors that are surfacing with regard to the current Van Halen reunion tour and the condition of the man himself.

One report has Eddie checking into a clinic in Texas to dry out after a spat with son and fellow band member Wolfgang. The spat was said to be due to Eddie’s drinking which Wolfgang reportedly harbors strong feelings against.

Speaking of family matters, Van Halen’s ex-wife, actress Valerie Bertinelli has checked in with her own take on Eddie’s condition. In a recent People magazine article, Bertinelli responded to questions about her ex-husband’s medical status with the following statement:

"I really don’t think it’s anybody’s business."

That might not be what a lot of people expect coming from someone who is currently promoting a tell-all book that features a good deal of what might be considered personal information concerning her ex-husband of 20 or so years.

It appears that Van Halen fans will have to wait a little longer for the straight story concerning Eddie and the tour. Any updates will be posted here as soon as I get the word.
