Myles Kennedy Confirms Zeppelin Jam
— January 20, 2009 1 31Among the flurry of Led Zeppelin rumors that have been surfacing over the last year or so were rumors of various well-known vocalists who had auditioned for Robert Plant’s position in front of what remains of one of the world’s most successful and well-known rock bands.
One of those vocalists, Myles Kennedy, is now speaking out and confirming that indeed, he did jam with Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham. The Alter Bridge singer was reluctant to provide many details of the session, including which Led Zeppelin tunes they rehearsed.
Although Kennedy says he will not be working with Led Zeppelin, he does appear to be quite appreciative of the opportunity to jam with his childhood heroes and described the experience as “surreal,” and reports that he is “still pinching himself.”
Whether Page and Jones were trying out singers with the intent of actually touring or just jamming with some singers to make Robert Plant feel a bit jealous is not known.
Plant seems quite content to continue his work with Bluegrass singer Alison Krauss and continues to say that he has no interest in a Led Zeppelin reunion.
