Rush Roadie Documentary In The Works
I guess fans are accustomed to seeing DVD’s and television shows that chronicle the lives of rock stars but how about one that shines some light on the guys behind the scene. Yeah, this one is about the roadies.
According to RushIsABand.com, the new documentary, titled Backstage Secrets, will be a 5-part series that was filmed with the full cooperation of the band, and presumably, the road crew themselves. Whistlestop Productions is said to be putting the final touches on the series now.
Filmed in High Definition with 5.1 Surround Sound, the follow the activities of crew members such as Lighting Director Howard Ungerleider; sound guys Brad Madix and Brent Carpenter; instrument technicians Lorne Weaton, Bobby Huck, Tony Geranios and Russ Ryan; video guys David Davidian and Bob Larkin; and production manager Craig Blazier as they go about their duties during the Canadian leg of the Snakes & Arrows tour this past summer.
Initially, the series was reported to be slated for broadcast in the U.S. on the Rave HD channel but a later update indicates that it may also be aired on the Voom HD Network as well, which is good news for me since I have both of those channels.
I’m sure this is something that most Rush fans will want to catch when it is scheduled. I’ll be watching the programming guide on my Dish Network DVR and will be sure to record it when it comes on.
