According to UltimateGuitar.com, Def Leppard is busy putting the finishing touches in their new album, which they report as 85 or 90 percent complete. The new album, with a working title of Songs From The Sparkle Lounge, will be the band’s first album worth of new material since 2002.

Since much of the material was conceived of on the road during their 2006 tour and much of the work took place in a backstage room referred to as “The Sparkle Lounge,” they decided it might be a good name for the album.

Despite Def Leppard’s plans to tour with Styx and Foreigner this summer, they are not planning on performing any of the material from the new album, partly for fear of it being distributed on the Internet and being heard by fans before the album is even released.
