Meat Loaf Diagnosis A Show Stopper

Veteran rocker Meat Loaf was recently diagnosed with an inter-vocal cord cyst, which has put an abrupt halt to his current tour. The singer was scheduled to perform a number of shows in Europe that have now been canceled.
Normally, these are the kinds of cysts that require surgery, but for now, voice therapy will be employed to assess the condition and help decide whether or not surgery will be necessary. It should take between 4 and 6 weeks before a decision can be made.
Meat Loaf, obviously not terribly happy with this turn of events, is quoted on his website saying, “It really breaks my heart not to be able to perform these shows. I was really looking forward to capping off a great year and celebrating the start of the holidays with the fans. But I have to do what the doctors tell me so I can look forward to healing and coming back strong in 2008. Let me dispel any rumors before they start – I will be back.”
