New Rush Singles To Be Released on June 1st
The boys from Rush have followed through on a new idea they have been talking about since they reconvened after a break following the Snakes & Arrows tour. Earlier this year, they hinted that they might be doing something a little different, and were considering releasing a new song or two before releasing a new studio album.
Two new Rush singles, titled “Caravan” and “BU2B” are being readied for digital release on June 1st. It appears that the new singles will be available for download from places like Amazon and iTunes.
Information on Amazon indicates that Caravan will also be the name of the forthcoming album. Reports indicate that six tracks tracks have been written for the new album thus far, and that the recordings of “Caravan” and “BU2B” have only recently been completed in a Nashville studio.
It’s not clear if either or both of the new singles will be released on CD, although it is reasonable to expect that they will be included on the new album when it is released.
In other Rush-related news, Artisan News Service recently sat down with Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee to hear their thoughts on their up-coming tour, which features the performance of the group’s most popular album, Moving Pictures, in its entirety.
It’s clear that they are looking forward to adding this treat to their live show for their “Time Machine” tour, and are confident that they have not forgotten how to play the material from the album, despite that it’s now about 3 decades old. Not that fans would have any doubt about that!
The tour kicks off on June 29th in Albuquerque, NM.
