Rush Documentary In The Works
— November 1, 2007 0 27A Toronto outfit called Grindstone Media is working on a $1.5 Million documentary featuring Canadian rock trio Rush. Directed by Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn, the film helps to shed light on just what a powerhouse rock group Rush really is. And we’re not just talking about musical ability here.
Although Rush does not seem to enjoy the same popularity of some of the other big names in rock, the trio has some impressive accomplishments under their collective belt. McFadyen points out the fact that the group is ranked fifth in the world for most consecutive gold and platinum albums, behind groups like The Beatles and the Stones. That’s quite an accomplishment.
One of the interesting features of the documentary will be interviews with other well-known rockers, including band members from Metallica, Nirvana and Iron Maiden, presumably to get their take on Rush and talk about how they may have been influenced by the veteran rockers.
No word on when the documentary will be completed. For more on this story, be sure to check out Playback Magazine.
