Rush’s New Album To Debut on May 1
After five long years, the wait for Rush fans is nearly over. The band’s new album, entitled Snakes & Arrows is scheduled for release on May 1.
I’ve been reading periodic updates regarding the band’s progress on the album since they started working on it and I hope it is as good as their experience was while making it. Something I read a while back from Neil Peart indicated that it was the most enjoyable recording experience he ever had.
I’ve also heard from numerous sources that the inspiration for Peart’s lyrics on this album was largely a result of certain things he encountered during his many motorcycle tours throughout the U.S., especially those having to do with religious faith.
I don’t want to get into talking a lot about religion here, but I will say that I believe I am in agreement with much of what Peart has to say on the subject, although I have heard only very little of what was actually said. That little bit was quite revealing however.
In any event, I, like other Rush fans, am looking forward to see what the band has come up with this time. I am guessing it might be a bit different than anything they have done in the past, but since these three guys have never come out with an album I did not like, I’m pretty confident that I’ll enjoy listening to it again and again.
I have also heard talk of a summer tour this year but have not heard about any specific dates or venues up until this point.

More Reunion Rumors: Led Zeppelin This Time?
As with most mega-bands that break up, rumors of a Led Zeppelin reunion have swirled around for years. This time, Canadian rock station Q107 reportedly has information from Zep bassist John Paul Jones that the members of the band are actually considering it.
The story about the break-up of the band and their reasons for not wanting to get back together are reportedly due to the desires of the remaining band members to leave the late John Bonham on record as the one and only drummer for the group known as Led Zeppelin.
With these new reunion rumors it certainly makes one wonder if the surviving members now regret using that particular reason as the one that kept them from re-forming the band.
I have to think that a Led Zeppelin reunion would be massively profitable for the band members. Classic rock seems hot right now among the kids today and I don’t know how many times I have seen a teenager out in public or on TV sporting a Led Zep T-shirt lately.
Like most classic rock fans, I would love to see the band get back together. It would certainly be interesting to see what a newly-formed Led Zeppelin would sound like.

New Album Coming From The Eagles
According to this article on the MSNBC web site, the Eagles are set to release a album of all-new material.
For me, the Eagles are one of those bands that has never ranked among my all-time favorites, but I find just about all of their stuff very listenable and every time I listen to some of it I always think to myself that I ought to listen to it more often.
The new album is reported to be coming in 60 or 90 days and will be the first album of new stuff from the band on 28 or so years. That’s a long stretch between records!
I happened to catch one of their concerts on TV a year or two ago. I think it was in Australia. To me the band still sounded darn good and they didn’t look too bad for a bunch of old guys.
I’m kind of anxious to see what kind of new material they have come up with after such a long time. Let’s hope it measures up to some of their good stuff from the past.
