Boston Extends Brad Delp Tribute Set
— August 1, 2007 1 29Boston is now scheduled to perform for an hour at the Brad Delp tribute on August 19.
Tom Scholz also reports via MySpace Blog that all Boston band members from the 1980’s and 1990’s are coming, as Scholz reports, “to play.” Although Fran Cosmo is reported to be suffering with some kind of medical problem that will prevent him from singing but not from lending a helping hand with his guitar.
The hour-long set is scheduled to begin at 9:55 and although Scholz did not indicate if that was 9:55 in the morning or 9:55 at night, information from sites that are selling tickets indicate that the event starts at 6:00 p.m.
I guess it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to think of a bunch of rock stars (even aging ones) putting on a show at 10:00 in the morning.

The Boston performance will be 9:55 – 10:55pm, after several of the other musicians/bands play.
Jim Masdea has been found, touring with a rock band in China, and will also be participating.
Fran Cosmo cannot sing due to ruptured blood vessel in his throat, which requires surgery.
Tickets to the tribute are still available thru Ticketmaster or Live Nation.
There will be pre-tribute fan event at Boston’s newly reopened Hard Rock Cafe from 3 – 5:30pm – Admission $20 (Donated to DTS Foundation). Note – Barry recently smashed a guitar at the HRC’s reopening, along with 76 other guitars being smashed at the same time by other local musicians
(1977 was the year HRC started).
Rock on,
George
