Led Zeppelin News: More of The Same
Little has changed with Led Zeppelin over the last few months. Uncut Magazine is featuring the surviving members of the group and they are not sounding any closer to announcing any further shows or tours.
Lead singer Robert Plant still appears to be the one holding things back, with bassist John Paul Jones saying that he would like to go on tour. Guitarist Jimmy Page and drummer Jason Bonham are also reported to be in favor of a tour.
While there has been some talk of a new Led Zeppelin album recently, John Paul Jones reveals that there are no particular plans at the moment, but says he would like to play with Jimmy Page again.
There have also been some rumors about the release of a DVD or CD from the O2 show from December, but Jimmy Page says there are no plans for that right now either. He says it may come about at some “distant point,” and that it would be a “massive job to embark on.”
Although the boys from Led Zeppelin have been featured in various interviews and feature stories in recent months, the message seems pretty consistent. It is not a message that is providing any comfort for anxious Led Zeppelin fans, but at least they have not yet closed the door completely on the possibility of a tour and until they do, hope is likely to remain alive in the hearts and minds of dedicated fans.
Personally I think I’d rather hear the Robert Plant/Allison Krauss deal than Led Zep. I mean… With these old rock band reunions it’s never… It just sounds like a nostalgia thing rather than anything fresh. The Plant/Krauss album is real nice because it sounds like something fresh.
