The Rolling Stones took top honors when it comes to tour earnings for 2005. The Stones pulled down $162 Million in concert ticket sales with U2 and Celine Dion coming in second and third just behind the aging rockers.

It’s nice to see a classic rock act at the top of the list, but with an average ticket price around $134, I would imagine that the profits pile up rather quickly. I admit I was never much of a Stones fan, but for heaven’s sake, $134 a ticket? Wow. That seems a bit steep to me.

Obviously there are a great number of Stones fans out there who do not consider that too steep and probably felt that it was money well spent. At least I hope so.
