Eddie Van Halen Getting Hitched

Less than a year after his marriage to actress Valerie Bertinelli officially ended in divorce (the couple had been separated since 2001), Eddie Van Halen has asked for his current girlfriend’s hand in marriage.

Reported to have dropped to one knee within the confines of a private room inside Tiffany’s, the exclusive jeweler, Van Halen proposed to Janie Liszewski, who accepted. Liszewski is also Van Halen’s manager.

There was no word on the engagement ring, but after coming off a $93 million tour, it’s likely that Eddie slipped an impressive rock onto his new fiancée’s finger.

The couple is planning on a June wedding next year and according to People Magazine, “They are happy, healthy, very much in love and looking forward to living life together forever. They are devoted to each other and to experiencing life in a whole new, positive and passionate way.”

Speaking of healthy, I guess the VH camp has done a good job keeping mum on the nature of the medical problems that sidelined Eddie Van Halen back in March and put the groups reunion tour on hold for a short time. Van Halen has dealt with significant health problems in the past, including hip replacement surgery and cancer back in the late 1990’s.
