Done Deal: Led Zeppelin Brings The House Down
The reviews are starting to pop up in various places around the web. NME says: “You might think it couldn’t possibly live up to expectation but, it transpires, the opposite is in fact true of Led Zeppelin’s first public appearance in 19 years.”
This was no small event. In fact, I was just watching NBC Nightly News a few minutes ago and they covered it and showed a few seconds of video from the show.
There was a lot of speculation about the set list and especially the opening number, which turned out to be “Good Times, Bad Times,” one of my personal Led Zeppelin favorites.
The entire set consisted of the following songs:
“Good Times Bad Times”
“Ramble On”
“Black Dog”
“In My Time Of Dying”
“For Your Life”
“Trampled Under Foot”
“Nobody’s Fault But Mine”
“No Quarter”
“Since I’ve Been Loving You”
“Dazed And Confused”
“Stairway To Heaven”
“The Song Remains The Same”
“Misty Mountain Hop”
“Kashmir”
“Whole Lotta Love”
“Rock And Roll”
This show sounds like it was an enormous success and observers found it difficult to believe that these guys had not played together for so many years. As the boys in the band had been reporting for the last few weeks, they were indeed well-prepared for this show.
Now, of course, speculation turns to whether or not this was the last time they will perform together or if this is the start of something much bigger.
If the guys on stage were planning to make their decision based on the success of this show, it would seem they will be planning a full-blown tour sometime soon.
